An important part of MOMS Club® is completing service projects which improve the lives of children and families. MOMS Club® of Hastings completes several service projects each year. Some of our current and past projects are listed below.
Hastings Family Services
What is Hastings Family Service?
HFS is a private, non-profit, community-supported agency which has as its mission providing assistance and support to our neighbors - often those people who "fall between the cracks" in our society, those facing unexpected financial crisis, isolation, or loneliness. Since its incorporation in 1970, the agency board and staff have sought to recognize and serve those in our midst whose needs may be hidden, including the so-called "working poor," those who are hungry, homeless, or unable to provide for basic needs food, clothing, shelter, friendship, and transportation. |
HFS's philosophy has always been to recognize the dignity of the individual and the fact that any one of us could be in need. People often call HFS when there is nowhere else to turn.
Our club is a strong supporter of HFS. We hold specific item drives and raise money by selling refreshments and cookies at the Holiday Train event. We, as a group, know how important and lucky we are to have such a service in our town and try hard to contribute to them as much as we can. |
Monetary Donations
There are many other groups within our community that we help out with donations: Resurrection United Methodist Church children's programs, 360 Communities Lewis House, TLC of Hastings, United Way of Hastings Food4Kids program, and many others.
